Missouri State’s efactory receives $100,000 grant from U.S. Bank Foundation

The three -year grant will continue to support statewide Early-Stage Business Boot Camps.
The Early-Stage Business Boot Camp at Missouri State University’s efactory has been awarded a $100,000 multiyear grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation.
The three-year grant builds on funding that helped efactory launch the program and expand it across Missouri through Show-Me Network. The latest award will help more entrepreneurs turn business ideas into action through practical education, industry expertise, and connections to resources.
“Small businesses are the backbone of strong communities,” said Kristen Polchinski, community affairs manager at U.S. Bank. “We’re proud to work with organizations like efactory to help entrepreneurs grow and succeed.”
Investing in economic growth
Since its inception, more than 350 entrepreneurs have completed the Early-Stage Business Boot Camp. Thirty-eight cohorts have participated in the program in more than 20 Missouri communities.
The boot camp helps entrepreneurs understand what it takes to start and grow a successful business. Participants explore how to turn ideas into action, understand their customers, and navigate key aspects of business ownership, including operations, financial management, funding and risk.
“The U.S. Bank Foundation has been an important supporter as we’ve built this program and expanded its reach,” said Rachel Munday, assistant vice president of economic development at Missouri State. “Their continued funding allows us to reach more entrepreneurs while connecting them with the knowledge, expertise and resources they need to move their ideas forward.”
“Starting and growing a business comes with a lot of questions, and entrepreneurs don’t always know where to turn for answers,” said Chrystal Irons, director of business support and training. “This program gives participants the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, ask questions, and build a stronger foundation for their business. We want them to walk away with practical knowledge and greater confidence. We’re grateful for the U.S. Bank Foundation’s continued support.”
Throughout the program, participants learn from professionals who understand the realities of running a business. Guest speakers share practical knowledge and real-world experience in areas such as banking, accounting, legal considerations, human resources, insurance and other essential aspects of business ownership.
